ETRUSCAN ALLIED LEGION PRINCIPII

The Principii of the Etruscan Legion are now formed up in front of the Triarii.
28mm Figures by Aventine. Painting these Romans was interesting because there was quite a lot of variety in equipment etc but not too much - the legion maintains enough uniformity and of course the tunic colour, helmet plumage and shield design brings it all together across the legion.

28MMM ETRUSCAN ALLIED LEGION AVENTINE MINIATURES

These chaps are from a recently finished commission of Etruscan Allied legionaries from the days of the Roman Republic. Figures are 28mm Aventine Miniatures and they are really good figures to paint. These are the Triarri units looking suitably unimpressed by whatever the Carthaginians might be doing. Still to come are the Hastatii, Principii and Velites which I will post next...we are having a break from the AWI!
