ARAB/MAMELUKE HEAVY CAVALRY 15MM MIRLITON MINIATURES
More 15mm Arab/Mamelukes this time a unit of heavy cavalry. The figures are again by Mirliton and were also for the same customer in America as the command stands in the previous blog. I also did the flags for these myself. I have to say I was influenced by the scenes in the film 'Kingdom of Heaven' so I made sure that every lance had a pennon on it.

CRUSADES ARAB/MAMELUKE COMMAND STANDS 15MM MIRLITON
Sticking with the Crusade theme a couple of 15mm Arab/Mameluke command stands here, which I painted a while ago for a customer in America. They are based on 40x40mm bases as per his instructions for all command bases, and were for a Field Of Glory army.
The figures are from another Italian company Mirliton (available in the UK through Vexillia). These are also brilliant castings.
I also made the flags for these chaps.

KNIGHTS HOSPITALLERS 15MM LEGIO HEROICA
A change from 40mm Napoleonics to 15mm Crusaders. These are Knights Hospitallers from Legio Heroicas' Early Crusades range, which I painted a couple of years ago now to sell on Ebay. I love the figures produced by this Italian company, and their ranges continue to expand.
Ok painting these chaps was easy - they are all black with a bit of armour showing and a nice white cross. I did make the lance pennons myself though! They make a good contrast with the other Holy Orders wearing white surcoats.

NAPOLEONIC FRENCH VOLTIGUERS 40MM PERRY MINIATURES
The last lot of the 40mm Perry Miniatures Napoleonics - the French Voltiguers this time. Above and below they are in their white waistcoats, as worn in Span.
Below is a Sapper; in general I'd love to see sappers in more exciting poses other than just marching or standing. After all they did get involved in the fighting. It was French sappers/engineers who broke down the door of La Haye Saint at Waterloo (or was it Hougomont I can't remember?)
And then below the French in the usual blue coats.

43RD LIGHT INFANTRY 40MM PERRY MINIATURES
The OR's of the 43rd Light Infantry, plus a sergeant waving about in anger because they are not in proper skirmishing order! "We are posing for a photograph!" came the reply from the men.
Anybody would think these lumps of lead spoke to me. After a long working day painting away they sometimes do....That's when I know its time to put the brush down and walk away, avoiding the wardrobe because that leads to Narnia, but that's another story.

43RD LIGHT INFANTRY 40MM PERRY MINIATURES
More 40mm Perry Miniatures British Napoleonics - 43rd Light Infantry. They are a bugler, sergeant and officer looking less fancy without the fancy pelisse. Some pics of the soldiers from the 43rd will be in the next blog post.

FRENCH NAPOLEONIC INFANTRY OFFICERS 40MM PERRY MINIATURES
More 40mm Perry Napoleonics, this time some French officers, looking confused about where to go, or where their battalion is...they are in another blog post perhaps!
Now this chap is either waving his bicorne about to encourage the troops or he has just sung a song and is holding his hat out for contributions to the regimental funds.

43rd LIGHT INFANTRY OFFICER, PENINSULAR WAR 40MM PERRY MINIATURES
This figure is a Perry Miniatures 40mm, which I was commissioned to paint a while ago An ideal scale for a skirmish game, or a battle if you have a very, very big table...wonderful to paint though, the bigger the figure the more subtle the shading has to be. And their is more detail too. I would love to paint a battalion of these for myself and have them on display as it would look really good. In fact I may just do it! When I get the time....
