This is a Late Imperial Roman guard type unit, hence the more regular appearance with purple and white clothing tunics. I put some variation on the trousers though as I guess the tunics for the guards might be state issued - not necessarily the trousers though. A more straight forward shield design taken from the Notitia Dignitatum's list of guards units was also used.
Delighted at this fine brushwork for this & the other units done for my growing LI Roman Army :)
