WEBSITE ON THE WAY

A website is now under construction for Hart of War Figure Painting, at last! To illustrate the point here is a picture of some Romans constructing a bridge!

The website will not only be for the painting side of the business. We will also be stocking figures to sell and there will be a secure shopping cart on the site. We will initially be stocking selected boxed sets of Warlord Game's figures, and boxes of Perry Plastics.

You can buy your figures from us but there is no obligation to have them painted (although we will be happy to paint them for you if you wish to commission us to do so).

Having a website means that this blog no longer has to act as a selling platform. It can become a proper blog. Yes it will be used to carry news etc from us, along with pictures of recently finished painting commissions, but it will also carry posts of a more personal nature such as battle reports from games we have played, with lots of lovely pictures.
It could also carry pictures of collections sent in by our customers!

We would also like to thank everyone who reads the blog, and also thanks for the comments/feedback. I do not always get a chance to reply but do read and appreciate all of them.

28MM NAPOLEONIC RUSSIANS WIP

These are the first batch of units for a large 28mm Napoleonic Russian Commission for Gunter Heim (you may have seen his article in Wargames Illustrated issue 330 April 2015 which was about his amazing collection of Napoleonic Saxons).
For the Russians Gunter has commissioned Hart of War to paint Prince Tchervatov's 18th Division of 1812 - a total of 8 infantry battalions, 4 Jaeger battalions and 3 battalions of converged grenadiers. Plus the Pavlograd Hussars. Pictured in this post are the 1st and 3rd battalions of the Vladimir and Tambov Infantry Regiments.
The figures, like the Saxons in the WI article, are made by Steve Barber Models and they are really nice figures to paint.
Gunter regularly publishes progress updates on the League of Augsburg forum 'Fighting Talk'.

1ST TEXAS ACW

These are from a recent 15mm American Civil War commission for a customer who is recreating the Battle of Gettysburg - the 1st Texans, or Texians. There is also General Hood at the back. They are based for Fire and Fury Regimental Rules.
The figures are Xan Miniatures - the first time I have painted any of their figures. They are very nice to work with. The flags are by GMB Designs.
Another couple of Confederate battalions have arrived and I'm looking forward to painting those.
